Air conditioning tools, also called air conditioning systems, are equipment made up of various parts or units that work together to create a pleasant environment in terms of temperature. Therefore, these systems make it possible to adapt to the climatic zone in which they are located or to offer pleasant and comfortable spaces according to the seasons of the year. For hot days there are air conditioners and for cold days there are boilers or other heating systems. With this equipment, a temperature between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius (which is recommended for human beings) is maintained in an entire apartment, house, building, offices and all kinds of buildings.
As said, the tools or air conditioning systems are divided into air conditioners and heating. In each case there are various methods of maintaining suitable temperatures for people to live comfortably. You have to go through these circuits to get to know each one and its functionalities according to your needs. Not all equipment can be used in all properties or climatic zones:
Window: is a kind of square unit that is embedded in the wall or somewhere in a window and contains all the functional components of the circuit. For its installation, a hole in the wall or window must be made so that most of the device protrudes outside, while the façade or the part with the controls is flush with the interior for use. They were early models, but now they are almost out of use. They are cheap, but use a lot of energy. Split: they are the most used equipment today. There are many powers for domestic, commercial and industrial uses. They are made up of two units. One is outside and is where the compressor, motors and the circuits that allow the air to be taken from the outside, cool it and, through a series of pipes and hoses, take it to the other unit that is installed inside the house, are located. trade or office and release it clean and cold to air condition. It offers many advantages. Among them aesthetics, low noise and that they are energy efficient. Ducted: These units are made for integral refrigeration systems. It consists of an external unit and several internal ones that are fixed to walls or false ceilings and usually have a greater capacity than the wall or split units. That is why they are used in multiple spaces such as various offices, rooms in houses or apartments or commercial environments. Its installation is usually more expensive and more complex. But they are used when more capacity is needed in a single piece of equipment. Ranges from 36,000 to 60,000 BTUs. That is why they are ideal or indicated for large or very large spaces. Portables: are those that incorporate the entire circuit in a single box or coupled unit. It has wheels to easily transport it from one room or space to another without much trouble. The compressor and motor are integrated and through a very flexible hose the hot and used air is expelled to the outside. Its advantages include comfort and the fact that it does not require any kind of installation. They are also silent. But, they are very expensive considering the value for money, since they do not usually have a lot of power. Central units: They work in a similar way to split units, but their installation is complex and larger, so they are used to cool entire buildings such as large stores or an entire building. Its cost is very high, but it provides a high level of convenience and comfort. It adds a lot of value to the property and its maintenance is relatively easy. However, it requires a high initial investment in the purchase of equipment and installation.
Natural gas heating: Heating systems that use gas energy are used with a boiler, as this is the system through which the water circulates. These gas circuits are usually very efficient and, in general terms, provide clean and safe energy, since their radiators generate heat and are supplied with water that heats a system that uses gas as fuel. The water that heats every boiler circulates through a pipe system that starts from the radiator(s) and, in this way, heat is generated that goes to all the places that are close to the system. Oil heating: These are the most widely used heating systems in the world. These circuits are basically used in large sites with special emphasis on industrial spaces or warehouses. Among its main advantages are that they are cheap compared to others. They are also durable and easy to maintain, but they cause pollution by emitting greenhouse gases (GHG). Electric heating: these systems are especially recommended for small spaces and for specific requirements. In other words, many of these devices are used to not turn on the central heating or to reinforce it in certain rooms. The advantage of this equipment is that it does not require complex installations. Alternative energy heating systems: these include air conditioning systems (which can be air conditioners or boilers) that work with solar energy through panels or photovoltaic panels. We can also mention the aerothermal systems that use a system that is only partly electric and that heats the outside air to make the rooms warm. Among the energies that do not release GHG are biomass boilers that heat thanks to the fact that they are fed with small pellets of recycled material.
As you can see, air conditioning systems are varied and complex. Each team has components that are similar or that fulfill the same function, but each one of them is different. If we add to this that the market has thousands of models, brands, sizes and power, each of these components differs from another. Therefore, air conditioning technicians are the ones who maintain complete circuits and, if necessary, change or repair parts that have been damaged by use and the passage of time. Both boilers and air conditioners have components that require tools for maintenance or repair. Among the main ones are: Air conditioning tools for assembly: pliers, screwdrivers, nuts and cables.
Within these tools, technicians must have an assortment that includes the following:
Depending on each equipment and model, technicians can use the same tools for air conditioning and heating systems interchangeably. Among them it is worth mentioning:
Air conditioning systems are circuits that must work properly. This does not only mean that they cool or heat. But that pressure and energy remain stable. These tools are required for them:
Many of the HVAC technicians' tools are manual such as screwdrivers and pliers, but a large number are electrically powered. These stand out:
Naming all the hand tools would require a huge catalogue, especially when it comes to air conditioning. These are the most used:
